Information for clinicians – Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC)

We provide contraceptive coil and implant insertions and removals for all patients registered with a Solihull GP practice. 

Service aims

• Improve the equity of LARC provision across Solihull
• Reduce termination of pregnancy rates 
• Reduce underage pregnancies 

How to refer to the service

• Self-referral 
• GP practices can refer on behalf of their patients via Solihealthlocality@nhs.net 

Services not provided

To ensure we can see patients with clinical needs quickly, the following are not covered by this service:

• Contraception checks
• Depo injections
• Complex referrals are sent to ‘Umbrella Health’
